What is the dress code?

Please dress modestly and respectfully for Mass, which means covering your shoulders and knees and avoiding overly casual or revealing attire. Think of it as preparing for a special, solemn occasion like visiting royalty, you'd dress your best to show respect for the King of Kings. Men should remove their hats, and for women, a head covering like a veil is sometimes expected, though this is a personal preference.

When are Mass and Confession?

I'm not Catholic. How do I know when to sit, stand, and kneel?

To know when to sit, stand, or kneel at a Catholic Mass, simply observe and follow the movements of the congregation around you.

Where do my children go?

St. Margaret Mary church has the Cry Room.

We also offer Religious Education classes for all students up to high school. We offer Sacramental Prep classes for Baptism, First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, Confirmation and Marriage.

How to Follow Along:

  1. Imitate others: Look to the people in the pews around you, and stand, sit, or kneel when they do.
  2. Don't feel obligated to participate in kneeling: If you are unable or uncomfortable with kneeling, it is perfectly acceptable to sit instead.
  3. Avoid holding hands up: While you can fold your hands in prayer, avoid holding your hands out in the way the priest sometimes does.

I'm not Catholic. Is it okay for me to participate in communion?

The Eucharist is reserved for Catholics who have received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. If you haven’t received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion and if you still wish to receive a blessing, you can approach the priest with your arms crossed over your chest, which signals you are not able to receive Communion.

Am I expected to put money in the offering?

For those who attend regularly, giving is considered a personal and meaningful practice. The Bible encourages giving cheerfully and not out of obligation. Donations support various church functions, such as:

  • Paying staff: Covering salaries for pastors, ministers, and administrative staff.
  • Maintaining facilities: Paying for the upkeep of the church building and utilities.
  • Faith Formation: Supporting youth groups, Sunday school, and other church ministries.
  • Supporting outreach: Financing missionary work, funeral dinners, and assistance for those in need.

I have a hearing problem, is there any special assistance?

No. We don’t have any hearing assistance.
